Trivela

Striking the ball with the outside of the foot, curving it in the opposite direction to a normal shot or pass. Portuguese word popularized by Ricardo Quaresma, but now associated in the Premier League with Kevin De Bruyne's outside-of-the-boot passes. Looks casual. Requires absurd technique.

"Trivela pass from the right channel, curled it around two defenders and onto the striker's head. How does he do that?"
