The International Wave is the vertical's growth subject: the story of the league's centre of talent moving steadily outward. The milestones are stated as the completed events they are. Dirk Nowitzki, drafted in 1998, won the Most Valuable Player award in 2007 and a championship with Dallas in 2011. Giannis Antetokounmpo won consecutive MVP awards in 2019 and 2020 and a title with Milwaukee in 2021. Nikola Jokic, drafted forty-first overall in 2014 while still playing in Serbia, won the MVP award in 2021, 2022, and 2024 and a championship with Denver in 2023. Joel Embiid won the MVP award in 2023. Behind the stars sits the structural story the quizzes also test: draft origin stories, FIBA to NBA development paths, and the international academies and leagues that now feed the draft every June. Young facts are anchored hardest on this shelf, by design.
