A player who retrieves everything and just gets the ball back in play without much pace or aggression, forcing the opponent to generate all the power and eventually make errors. Not a compliment. Pushers are the most frustrating opponents in recreational tennis because they don't beat you with great shots. They beat you with your own impatience. 'Just keep the ball in play' shouldn't be this effective, but it is.
"Everything comes back. No pace on any of it. She's a pusher and it's working. Her opponent is spraying errors trying to hit winners."
