Hitting someone in the head or face with a legitimate hard shot, intentionally or accidentally. Getting potatoed means catching a real punch, knee, or elbow to the dome. It's one of the most dangerous things in wrestling because head injuries are serious business. Some old-school wrestlers (Hardcore Holly, JBL) were notorious for potatoing people as 'hazing' or punishment. This is no longer acceptable.
"He potatoed him with that elbow. That's going to swell up. The ref is checking on him."
