When a wrestler gets a new gimmick, name, look, or persona. Usually happens after their current character has run its course or failed to connect. Sometimes it works brilliantly — Husky Harris becoming Bray Wyatt, Rocky Maivia becoming The Rock. Sometimes it makes things worse — remember when they turned Dustin Rhodes into Goldust? Actually, that one worked too. The point is: repackaging is a gamble.
