A low-intensity submission hold used to give both wrestlers a breather during a long match. Headlocks, chinlocks, nerve holds. The crowd knows what's happening. The wrestlers know the crowd knows. But bodies need recovery time, especially in 20+ minute matches. Good workers use rest holds to advance the story. Bad workers use them because they're gassed and have nothing else.
